While I have experimented and worked with a variety of media over the years, it wasn’t until I worked on Rattlesnake in a Moving Car that I saw the potential of combining a variety of media disciplines into one project.
My work on a large scale multimedia installation has sparked my interest in integrating what has been termed “Classical Realism” with contemporary media, such as audio and light. Working with Realism in drawing and painting while creating an environment that sustains the artwork brings it more directly into the viewer’s present timespace.
Because the structure has actual physical dimension, the viewers will have more interaction with the objects as the storytelling mode leads them through the space.
The three avenues I’m pursuing with this idea in mind are easels, panels and wraparounds. As I develop those further I will present them for viewing.
